Ultra Festival

This summer I visited the beautiful island of Croatia with my boyfriend & two close friends. We stayed in the city Dubrovnik for 6 nights & mid-week traveled over to the small island of Vis for the closing party of Ultra Music Festival.

The festival had a number of events which took place in different locations throughout July. Ultra certainly provided variety in their venue choices, from a yacht & beach party to a large stadium gig, there was plenty for anyone who’s interested in dance music.

My first festival abroad was not as expected. We sailed to the island, approaching the harbour we saw the festival location on the side of a cliff.  Ultra provided private jeeps which drove small groups up the rocky roads to the castle of Fort George. Inside the castle walls led you to a small forest. It was pretty breathtaking. The dance floor was placed underneath large white lanterns which hung beneath the trees. Surrounding the main stage were private tables, two bars and a BBQ area. With an amazing view of the stage and sea we stayed on the main dance floor for most of the evening. Here we watched Nic Fanciulli & Hot Since 82.

Going away with one of your close friends means double the fun when it comes to choosing hairstyles. Sarah has beautiful long thick hair, to prep we used Moroccan oil which was applied to damp hair. Her festival style was a half down do, including waves created with a large barrel wand. The top section was a simple crown french braid which I pulled out to add thickness. To spice things up, underneath Sarah’s crown braid, I created a ‘bubble ponytail’ on a small section of hair (see below). A light spray was needed to finish off the style.                                                                                                                   imageimageimage

For my own hair I chose two dutch braids, a practical style for lots of dancing and to stay in during the humid weather. Midway I used elastic ties to end the braid, from here I braided two tight fish braids.

To finish off our festival look we had metallic tattoos from Temporary Tats which I styled with my new Baby Roxy Cage by Kiki Minchin  It was my first time experimenting with tattoos & although they looked so pretty on pictures I nervously anticipated transferring them onto my skin.  Overall, they were easy & quick to transfer. We prolonged our wear of the tattoo’s for the rest of the holiday, they looked fabulous all week long.
